Club President's message
A message from our President 
Whether you are a member of the Club, a member of another Rotary Club, or a prospective member of Rotary, thank you for visiting this website – you are most welcome, as indeed you will be at our weekly Club meetings. To those considering membership, and perhaps with little or no knowledge of Rotary let me offer at least a brief introduction to whom and what we are. Rotary International is, as its very name suggests, a world wide organisation. It is made up of separate, but associated, local Clubs which exist to provide service to the community coupled with fellowship among its members. At Catford we are delighted to have a very mixed membership. Mixed by age; gender; racial origin; background; and talent. We use that mixture to great advantage and use by support to local (Catford, Downham, and Bellingham) charities and community groups with fund-raising support and sometimes direct hands on assistance with their particular work. The smaller, often unfunded groups are of special concern. We look wider too, through our world wide connections, to play a part in some very major international causes – not least the eradication of polio, the clearance of landmines, and the provision of clean water, and the provision of emergency shelter after disasters. We use that mixture too, to enjoy fellowship through a very varied programme of speakers, social events, and personal interaction. This website gives you details of our programme and contacts, please feel free to contact us, and to visit us. We meet for dinner and our post meal meeting every Wednesday (Except possibly the rare 5th Wednesday of a month) at The Bromley Court Hotel, Bromley Hill at 6.30 for 7pm.
