Archbishop Desmond Tutu peace garden
Held: 21st October 2009 @ 6:45pm 'til 8:45pm The Bromley Court Hotel

Suzannah Clarke lives in Desmond Tutu's former family home in Lewisham and she wanted to create something to commemorate the work of the archbishop peace activist who spent more than a decade living and working in London. Suzannah Clark contacted Desmond Tutu through the South African Embassy to let him know about her plans for his former home town and was astonished when Archbishop Tutu called her mobile directly and accepted her invitation to officially open the peace garden. "To begin with I was going to do it in my back garden but was thrilled that Lewisham Council offered us the park to build it in." Said Suzannah.
