 Rotary is short for Rotary International – a worldwide association of local clubs for men and women in business or the professions who: provide humanitarian service to the community at local, national and international level; encourage high ethical standards in all vocations; and work for goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotary International is the world's largest service organisation for business and professional people, with some 1,180,000 members in 163 countries world-wide.
There are now over 59,000 Rotarians in 1834 Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, helping those in need and working towards world understanding and peace.
